യാതൊരുവന്‍ ഇന്ദ്രിയങ്ങളെ മനസ്സുകൊണ്ട് അടക്കിനിര്‍ത്തിയിട്ടു ക‍‍‍‍ര്‍മ്മേന്ദ്രിയങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ട് നിഷ്ക്കാമക‍‍‍ര്‍മ്മ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നുവോ അവന്‍ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനാകുന്നു

ക‍ര്‍മ്മഫലത്തെ ആശ്രയിക്കാതെ കര്‍ത്തവ്യമായ കര്മ്മം ആരു ചെയ്യുന്നുവോ അവന്‍ സന്യാസിയും യോഗിയുമാണ്. അല്ലാതെ അഗ്നിഹോത്രാദികളെ ചെയ്യാത്തവനും, ക‍ര്‍മ്മത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു സ്വസ്ഥനായിരിക്കുന്നവനുമല്ല
നീ മനസ്സിനാല്‍ നിയന്ത്രിതമായ കര്മ്മം ചെയ്യുക. എന്തുകൊണ്ടെന്നാല്‍ ക‍‍‍ര്‍മ്മമാണ് അകര്‍മത്തെക്കാള്‍ ശ്രേഷ്ഠം. കര്മ്മം ചെയ്യാത്ത പക്ഷം നിനക്കു ശരീരനിര്‍വഹണം പോലും സാധ്യമാകയില്ല
